Movies of 2011

Not as many as last year ... but eh, it's not a big deal. Pretty good count overall, I'd say.

In Theaters (in the order of viewing)
  1. Paul
  2. Taxi Driver (re-release)
  3. Source Code
  4. Thor
  5. X-Men: First Class (excellent ensemble superhero team/origin flick)
  6. Super 8
  7. Midnight In Paris (light-hearted, yet serious and very well-done)
  8. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 (excellent cinematography, but that also goes for Part 1, too)
  9. Captain America (probably the best of the superhero films this year)
  10. Cowboys and Aliens
  11. Drive (one of the best films of the year)
  12. 50/50
  13. The Muppets
  14. Crazy Stupid Love (theater grand re-opening; New Year's Eve (ha-ha, coincidence?) wasn't working, so we got a vote and the majority went for Crazy Stupid Love)
  15. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (stellar action flick)
  16. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
  17. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) (intense, but very well done and up there on the Best Of The Year list)
  18. The Adventures of Tintin (stunning and probably up there, too)
On DVD (in the order of viewing)
  1. Amelie
  2. The Social Network
  3. Vertigo
  4. The Apartment
  5. Bellamy
  6. The Kids Are All Right
  7. Crumb
  8. American Splendor
  9. Last Night
  10. Stage Beauty
  11. The Godfather
  12. The Godfather, Part 2
  13. Children of Men
  14. Fanboys
  15. Bon Cop, Bad Cop
  16. Bridget Jones's Diary
  17. Howl
  18. Pearl Jam 20
  19. Nirvana: Live at the Paramont
  20. Despicable Me
Not counting or tallying re-watches this year, but the few I can think of include Monsters, Inc., Up, and Little Rascals.

I really loved Super 8 and Children of Men. Both great movies.
