Anyways, about 16 and a half minutes into the video (probably 20 or so minutes into the panel), Neil said something so true about the show in regards to whether or not people have to know about the 47 years of Doctor Who mythology.
No, look, there's a blue box. It's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. It can go anywhere in time and space and sometimes even where it's meant to go. And when it turns up, there's a bloke in it called The Doctor and there will be stuff wrong and he will do his best to sort it out and he will probably succeed 'cause he's awesome. Now sit down, shut up, and watch 'Blink'.That's all I wanted to share. :) If you wish to watch it, it's linked here.
Until next time! Allons-y, Alonso!

'Blink' is the episode my friend made me watch in order to introduce me to Doctor Who. It worked. LOVED it (and love Neil Gaiman *_*)
Blink is just the perfect go-to episode. Love Neil's quote. :)
Your "little-known blog" just got tweeted by Gaiman himself. Expect visitors. And yes, "Blink" is television at its very best and needs to be passionately loved by all.
THE COUNTDOWN TO NEILWEBFAIL HAS BEGUN
Blink is one of the scariest episodes in the Who genre. But brillant for getting people in.
"Blink" scares the wee out of me, but it's so brilliant.
Blink is the only episode of any TV series I have watched 5 times in two years.
And I have used it to introduce people to Dr Who as well.
I teach a university course on television; I showed "Blink" in class a few weeks ago. After the showing, a student raised his hand and said in a very small voice, "Are all the episodes of Doctor Who that good?"
I watched the entire series over the last couple of months. "Blink" was my absolute favorite episode. I'm still in tears over David Tennant leaving.
Lured my folks into watching Doctor Who with "Blink"
Neil Gaiman is about to kill your blog through twitter. Just so you know why it's about to get neilfailed.
Oh, and thanks for the transcript.
Thank you all for the comments! I believe that 'Blink' was the first full episode of the reboot that I saw, even though I remember seeing a bit of 'The Girl In The Fireplace'.
I did introduce my dad to 'Blink' to try and get him into the new series (he used to watch old episodes from time to time) and he liked it, I think. And I hope to the web Gods (and the Blogger server) that this doesn't crash!
'Blink' is still my favorite episode, ever. It's practically perfect in every way. (Mary Poppins meets the Doctor? Oh no...now that I've put the idea into my head, it's never leaving)
:)
brilliant summary.
How amazing your paragraphes...! Thanks your posting.
Came here through the Gaiman tweet link, Blink is awesome I said so in my blog :D
Cool blog dude : )
Thank you for sharing that quote, Jason!
I was there! It was fantastic getting to hear that in person (and I am wearing my freebie t-shirt right now)!
