Well, this break has been quite productive.
I spent a week in Florida in late December. To sum things up, the flight down was nice, although there were a number of young children on the flight who were making plenty of noise. Not fun. I wasn't a shut-in for the vacation. I played some tennis. I swam. I played a bit of shuffleboard. I read by the poolside. And our flight back up on New Year's Eve kept getting delayed, so instead, we flew out on New Year's Day from a different airport. The flight was nice. There was a Monk marathon on, so I watched a few episodes. The flight was a little bumpy, but I had no need to use the little white bag in the seat-back pocket.
Since I've been home, I've read a record number of books over the past few days. They've been quick reads, but I have two slightly hefty books to finish before I return to Bing for the spring semester.
And in my time off, I've seen a handful of movies, 3 in theaters and 2 on DVD.
Milk: A phenomenal bio-pic. The entire cast is amazing!
Benjamin Button: A wondrous spectacle. Fincher is a master. This is a masterpiece!
Marley and Me: A wonderful film for families, especially those with dogs.
In Bruges: A decent black comedy. Heavy on the language.
The Orphanage: Well-written first film for the director, editor, cinematographer, and writer. Produced by GDT, so you know that it'll be good.
Now, I think I'll try to do some writing or something more productive than sitting here and typing this blog entry. Have a nice day, all.
